Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data TheHouz collects when you visit thehouz.com, request a brochure, use TheHouz Studio, contact us, submit a lead form on Facebook or Instagram or become a customer. It explains why we use your information, who may receive it, how long we keep it and the rights you have under data-protection law.

Who we are

The controller responsible for your personal data is TheHouz Modular Systems Limited, an Irish company registered under Company Registration Number 689241, with its registered business address at Unit 6, Monread Industrial Park, Naas, Co. Kildare, W91 HE9T, Ireland.

In this policy, “TheHouz”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to TheHouz Modular Systems Limited. For questions about this policy or the use of your personal data, contact us at info@thehouz.com.

The short version

When you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, send requested brochures or information, discuss your home requirements, arrange meetings or viewings, prepare proposals and, if you proceed, deliver and support your project.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use information provided through a brochure request, contact form or lead form for unrelated purposes. You may ask us to stop contacting you or remove your information at any time by emailing info@thehouz.com, subject to any information we are legally required to retain.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Contact details: your name, email address and telephone number.
  • Enquiry information: the message, description or answers you submit through a contact form, a Facebook or Instagram lead form, email, telephone call, social-media message or other communication.
  • Brochure requests: your email address and any other information you voluntarily provide when requesting a brochure or further information.
  • Project information: your proposed project location, county, Eircode, postal code or address, whether you have a plot of land, your planned build timeline, property or site information, photographs, drawings and other documents you choose to provide.
  • Configuration information: the model, size, specification, finishes, systems and options you select through TheHouz Studio or discuss with our team.
  • Communications: emails, messages, call notes, meeting or viewing bookings, proposals and records of our correspondence with you.
  • Customer and project records: information necessary to prepare contracts, manage design and production, organise delivery and installation, issue invoices and provide warranty or aftercare services.

Please do not send sensitive personal data, such as medical information, unless we specifically request it and there is a genuine reason for doing so. Such information is not normally required for a home enquiry or building project.

Information collected automatically

When you use our website, our website platform and authorised service providers may collect standard technical information, including your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages visited, referring website, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the date and time of your visit.

Some of this information is collected using cookies and similar technologies. Non-essential analytics and advertising technologies are used only where the required consent has been provided. The specific services we use are named in the Cookies and similar technologies section below.

When you request a brochure

We require your email address because it is necessary to send you the brochure or information you requested. If you do not provide an email address, we cannot deliver the brochure by email.

We may send a reasonable follow-up relating directly to your brochure request or stated home requirements, for example to ask whether you need help selecting a model, arranging a viewing or obtaining a proposal. This is part of responding to your request and is not treated as consent to receive an unrelated newsletter or general advertising campaign.

When you submit a Facebook or Instagram lead form

We may advertise on Facebook and Instagram using lead forms operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (“Meta”). If you submit one of these forms, we receive the information you provide, which may include your name, email address, telephone number and your answers to our questions, such as whether you have a plot of land and when you plan to build. Meta may prefill some contact details from your Facebook or Instagram profile. You can review and edit these details before you submit the form.

We use this information to respond to your enquiry, contact you by phone or email about your home plans and, if you ask, prepare a proposal. We may also use your answers to prioritise and tailor our follow-up. Submitting a lead form does not subscribe you to general marketing communications, and you can opt out of further contact at any time, as explained in Removing your information from our database.

Meta processes lead form submissions on our behalf in line with its lead ads terms. Meta’s own use of information about your activity on its platforms, such as how it shows you advertising, is governed by Meta’s Privacy Policy.

Why we use your information and our legal bases

  • To prepare a proposal: to assess your project, prepare specifications, estimates, drawings and itemised offers. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract under Article 6(1)(b).

Legal basis: consent under Article 6(1)(a), together with applicable electronic-marketing rules. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Website analytics and advertising measurement: to understand how the website is used and measure the effectiveness of advertising. Legal basis: your consent to the relevant non-essential cookies or technologies under Article 6(1)(a).
  • Recording your cookie choices: to store and evidence the cookie preferences you select, as required by data-protection and electronic-communications law. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation under Article 6(1)(c) and our legitimate interests in demonstrating compliance under Article 6(1)(f).
  • Legal and regulatory obligations: to comply with accounting, tax, company-law and other applicable requirements. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation under Article 6(1)(c).
  • Security and legal claims: to protect our website, systems, customers and business and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Legal basis: our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f).

Marketing communications

Submitting a contact form or lead form, or requesting a brochure, does not automatically subscribe you to general marketing communications.

Where we invite you to receive newsletters, offers or other ongoing electronic marketing, the choice will be presented separately. Any consent checkbox is optional and is not selected in advance.

You can withdraw marketing consent or object to direct marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe option in the message or emailing info@thehouz.com. We will stop the relevant marketing communications without requiring you to provide a reason.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential technologies: required for website security, core functionality, network management, load balancing, spam prevention and remembering necessary settings, including your cookie preferences. These technologies do not require consent where they are strictly necessary to provide the website or a service you requested.
  • Analytics technologies: used to understand how visitors use the website and improve its performance. These are activated only where you provide the required consent.
  • Advertising technologies: used to measure advertising conversions, create audiences or show more relevant advertising. These are activated only where you provide the required consent.
  • Embedded content: videos, virtual tours, maps, web fonts or other content supplied by third parties may make a connection to the provider’s systems and transmit standard technical information. Where consent is required, the content or associated tracking technology does not load before consent is provided.

A current, itemised list of the individual cookies used on this website, including their names, purposes and durations, is available in the cookie settings panel accessible from the cookie banner.

Google Consent Mode

We use Google Consent Mode. Where you do not consent to analytics or advertising technologies, the relevant Google services do not set or read cookies and do not receive identifiers that would allow you to be recognised. Google may still receive a basic, non-identifying signal that a visit occurred, and may use aggregated modelling to estimate overall trends. This modelling does not identify you and does not rely on data stored on your device.

Enhanced conversion measurement

Where you have consented to advertising technologies, and where we have enabled this feature, an irreversibly hashed version of an email address you submit through a form may be transmitted to Google so that a conversion can be attributed to an advertisement. The hashing takes place before transmission, Google does not receive the email address in readable form, and the data is used only for conversion attribution. If you do not consent to advertising technologies, this does not take place.

Changing your cookie choices

You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time using the cookie preferences control available on our website, normally shown as a small icon in the corner of the page. Your new choice takes effect immediately for technologies loaded after the change. You may also manage cookies through your browser settings, although blocking essential technologies may affect website functionality.

Records of your consent

When you make a choice in the cookie banner, our consent-management provider records that choice together with a consent identifier, the date and time, your truncated or full IP address, the version of the banner shown and the categories you accepted or rejected. This record exists so that we can demonstrate, if asked, that consent was properly obtained. Consent records are retained for up to 12 months from the date of the last recorded choice, or for such period as applicable guidance requires.

Who we share information with

We share personal data only where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Recipients may include:

  • Our group and delivery companies: TheHouz SIA, AluFactory SIA and AluFactory Limited, where their involvement is required to assess, design, manufacture, deliver, install or support your project.
  • Website, hosting and technology providers: including Automattic Inc. (WordPress.com, Jetpack and Akismet), CookieYes Limited, and providers of email, document storage, customer-management, security and communication services.
  • Analytics and advertising providers: including Google Ireland Limited, where the relevant service is used and you have provided any consent required for its cookies or tracking technologies, and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, which operates the Facebook and Instagram lead forms you may use to contact us.
  • Project-related suppliers and specialists: including designers, engineers, manufacturers, transport providers, installers and other specialists where necessary to prepare or deliver your project.
  • Professional advisers: including accountants, auditors, solicitors, insurers and banks where their involvement is genuinely necessary.
  • Public authorities: where disclosure is required by law, a court order or a lawful request from an authorised body.

Where a provider processes personal data on our behalf, we put a written data-processing agreement in place requiring the provider to act only on our instructions and to apply appropriate security measures.

We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.

International data transfers

Our group operates in Ireland and Latvia, both of which are within the European Economic Area. Some technology providers may process or access information from countries outside the EEA, including the United States and the United Kingdom.

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we use or require an appropriate transfer mechanism, such as an applicable European Commission adequacy decision, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is validly certified, or European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses together with any additional safeguards required. You may request further information about the safeguards applied to a specific transfer by emailing info@thehouz.com.

How long we keep information

  • Brochure requests and enquiries, including lead form submissions: normally for up to 24 months after our last meaningful contact, unless you ask us to delete the information sooner, become a customer or there is a legal reason to retain it for longer.
  • Marketing information: until you withdraw your consent, object to marketing or the information is no longer reasonably required. We periodically review inactive marketing records.
  • Customer and project records: for the duration of the project and afterwards for the periods required by applicable accounting, tax, contractual, warranty, building-documentation and legal-claims requirements.
  • Cookie consent records: for up to 12 months from your last recorded choice.
  • Analytics information: for the retention period configured in the relevant analytics service, which does not exceed 14 months for user-level and event-level data.
  • Website and security records: for the period reasonably required to operate, monitor and protect our website and investigate any security incident.

When information is no longer required, we delete it, securely dispose of it or anonymise it.

Removing your information from our database

You may ask us to stop contacting you or remove your enquiry or marketing information at any time by emailing info@thehouz.com. Please use the subject line “Remove my information” and identify the email address or telephone number concerned. You can also tell us during any call with our team or by replying to any email from us, and we will stop contacting you.

We will action the request unless we must retain particular information to comply with the law, perform an existing contract, manage a warranty, resolve a dispute or establish or defend a legal claim.

Where you opt out of contact or marketing, we may retain a minimal suppression record containing your contact detail and opt-out status. This is used only to ensure that we respect your request and do not contact you again or add you back to a marketing list.

Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • request access to the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to restrict how your information is used;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
  • object at any time to direct marketing;
  • receive certain information in a portable format; and
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. Some rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions.

To exercise a right, email info@thehouz.com. We may ask for information necessary to verify your identity. We normally respond within one month, as required by the GDPR. We do not charge a fee for handling a request unless it is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

Complaints

If you have concerns about how we use your information, please contact us first at info@thehouz.com so that we can investigate and try to resolve the matter.

You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland. Information about making a complaint is available at www.dataprotection.ie. If you live in Latvia, you may contact the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija) at www.dvi.gov.lv. You may also contact the data-protection supervisory authority in any other EU or EEA country where you live or work.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Our website is served over an encrypted connection, and access to personal data is limited to people and service providers who require the information for an authorised purpose.

No website, email service or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware of a personal-data breach, we will investigate it and make any notifications required by law.

Children

Our website and services are intended for adults interested in purchasing, designing or developing homes. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact info@thehouz.com and we will delete it.

Automated decisions

We do not make decisions about you using solely automated processing where those decisions would produce legal or similarly significant effects. TheHouz Studio may automatically calculate indicative configurations, options or prices, but final project suitability, scope and pricing are reviewed and confirmed separately by a member of our team. We may use answers you give in a lead form, such as your plot status and planned timeline, to help prioritise our follow-up, but every enquiry is handled by a member of our team.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our website, services, suppliers or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this page and the “Last updated” date will be amended. Where a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention.
